Those who have known me for a long time know that I tend to rant about cheesy Pinoy soaps. Well, here are some of my all-time favorite moments in Pinoy soap history.
Disclaimer: I may or may not be a fan of these shows. What do you think? Hehehe.
a) Bakekang - Just saw Bakeks with a white patch of cotton (or was it gauze) on her head. Mind you, her hair was pulled back in a bun but there was this thing on her perfectly coiffed head! Then I remembered she was in the hospital the other night. Ahhh.... so the white gauze was for her head injury. Oookay. And I thought hair only bleeds when you are trying to dye it. Then I remembered....
b) Some old soap on ch.7 a few years ago - Albert Martinez's character supposedly hurt his eyes. And so his eyes were covered by two round pieces of cotton. A long white strip of gauze was also wrapped around his head to keep the two cotton thingies in place. Found it so strange that he still wore a pair of really dark shades. He must have really hurt his eyes, huh.
c) Same soap, different rant - Angelika dela Cruz's character banged her head so many times in the soap. Ergo, she had amnesia several times. Ergo, everytime she had amnesia, she assumed a different character. I loved it!
d) Some other soap in ch.7 shown a few years ago -- Dingdong Dantes' character was trying to drown himself in a pool. I wondered how he would succeed in his attempt when both of his hands were holding on to the edge of the pool while his head was submerged in water. Genius!
e) Same soap, different rant - Tanya Garcia's character was running away from Dingdong who was chasing her all over the house. She quickly got inside the basket of a hot air balloon as it slowly rose from the ground. Then, after 20 feet or so, the hot air balloon stopped its ascent. Cut to a long shot of the hot air balloon which, apparently, was still attached to a spike on the ground via a 20-ft. long rope. Nice!
Nope, I am not a fan of ch.2 soaps either. Wait for them in succeeding posts. Hehehe!
Katuwaan lang ito ha.
