I am not a big Anne Hathaway fan. But I did like her latest movie, Becoming Jane, simply because the movie is about Jane Austen and her real life "Mr. Darcy". Anne's accent wasn't so bad either. And I like James McAvoy anyway (have you seen the quirky Starter for 10?). Becoming Jane is pretty good as the very first movie that I've seen after one hellish sem.

First day of freedom
To celebrate my first day of research paper freedom, I went to the SM Mall of Asia with my mom, sis, Auntie Lea, cousin Wig and nephew Lance. Kunwari nag-outing kami. Hehehe. Am glad to see that the breakwater area of MOA is being developed into a park or boardwalk of some kind. I guess this will attract the displaced Baywalk crowd. We left the mall smelling a bit malansa but nevertheless happy. Was a good day to see the ocean.

The NBS reunion... a couple of months ago
I am finally uploading pictures from Jean and Katz' visit a couple of months ago. These were pictures taken from Tempura Grill in Tomas Morato. Good food (can't remember the names of any of the dishes we ordered). Prices are affordable (as far as I can remember). The company was absolutely great (now that I remember)! Jean's back in London now, Katz is back in Cabanatuan, while I am simply back... from a long horrific sem.

tumatanda na ako sa MA program ko
dreaming of a great sembreak
I am not yet through with the school semester but I am already dreaming of a great vacation. Preferably somewhere cool -- like Baguio. Didn't get to enjoy my whirlwind fieldwork trip there last September. I did like visiting Camp John Hay again. Love the pine trees. Love The Manor Hotel. If only the guard didn't catch us and made us come down the trail leading to the hotel cabins. Ang arte ni manong guard. Parang nagpipicture-taking lang eh.

the old hometown
One great thing about scanning stuff in the microfilm lab -- I found pictures of my hometown, circa 1923. For those of you who are familiar with the place, feast your eyes on these pictures. I showed them to my mom and she said that my lolo must have been about 11 years old when these pictures were taken. Now that gave me goosebumps.

ang tagal ng sem na to!
Sorry sa tatlo kong readers, I still have three weeks of hellish schoolwork to go. Above is a pic of me with a classmate down in the Main Lib dungeons people call the Microfilm Lab. Super dokleng na kami sa kakahanap ng articles from 1922 to 1923 about radio broadcasting. Not fun, guys, not fun at all.
