tropical climate nga kasi eh

Sobra kaming na-excite when we found out that we can order a fresh, honest-to-goodness real Christmas tree from Oregon at The Fort's S&R Supermarket for only P3,500. None of us kids ever spent Christmas with a real tree before! We were willing to do everything to make sure the tree lasts till after New Year's -- sana nga hanggang Three Kings eh! Pero siyempre, we had our doubts. Dadaanin na lang namin sa dasal, basically. Hehehe. So when we learned that we had to pick up the tree last Nov. 20, instead of December 5, we knew the odds were against us -- and the tree, of course. We immediately set up the tree as soon as we got home. Ang bango ng tree! The whole house smelled like... Baguio! We even read and re-read the instructions on how to make the mixture that "guaranteed" the longevity of the tree. Heto nga, nagpa-picture pa ako the very next day eh.

Nov. 21

Once the tree was up and fully decorated, ginanahan na kaming mag-decorate ng entire ground floor. We even put up thicker curtains to diffuse the sunlight from the windows. After two weeks, medyo nag-iiba na ang kulay ng puno. Aaargh! The mixture didn't save the tree! Malamig naman ang panahon for the past two weeks dahil sa dami ng typhoons na bumisita sa Pinas! Here's the latest picture of the now yellow-green (mostly yellow) tree. Oh well. Although the tree wasn't that expensive, super sad kaming lahat. Buti na lang hindi pa namin pinamimigay yung plastic tree. Haaaaaaaay. This is my mom with the yellowish tree.
