major flashback

A month has passed since my friend Ee Ya Kin invited me, ex-Bossing Leo, Beth and her son Jake to the Highlands. Sa sobrang busy ko, it took me awhile to sort the tons of pictures out. Here they are now. Kahit huli man, enjoy pa rin tingnan. Di ba, Ee Ya Kin? Hehehe.

Pray muna. A trip to Tagaytay would always begin with a visit to the Pink Sisters.

Day-off(?) Leo couldn't believe we wanted to have our picture taken with the signage... and that we didn't care even if luxury cars slowed down as they passed us by.

A few landmarks. The Highlands Peak and the Golf Clubhouse.

Trigger-happy. Sa escalator lang, nagpipicture-taking pa.

Appetizers daw. We used our consumables on Tagaytay Green Salad, Tawilis, etc. Great pre-lunch food, incredible view of the lake.

Dream come true. First time I went to the Highlands a few years ago, the funicular was under repair. The ride this time was supposed to be peaceful and quiet, but a bunch of tourists came in with us. One of them started shouting to someone outside the tram, "SASAKAY KA BA? KASYA PA! KASYA PA!". Leo whispered to me "para tayong nasa sakayan ng jeep sa may Ever."

Jewel in the Palace? I couldn't resist bowing outside this Korean resto.

Nomads. Bawal magpicnic anywhere so we decided to park outside the animal farm and eat the yummy pasta prepared by Leo inside the van.

4 legs good, 2 legs bad. To walk off our heavy lunch, we decided to check out the animal farm. One of the custodians asked me to stretch out my arm, yun pala, lalagyan niya ng mga birds. Do I look as scared as I felt?

The place was small but beautifully landscaped. I don't know if it was due to the heat or what but some of the animals looked sick and tired to me.

Sosyal transpo. On our way to the countryclub. Had to take the cablecar to get there.

For my personal collection. For those who know me well, alam nilang mahilig ako kumuha ng pictures sa CR and locker rooms. Hehehe.

Siesta. Nakatulog na si Bossing coz of the heat.

Golden hour. We were rushing para mahabol ang huling biyahe ng cablecar. I wasn't able to resist the great outdoor lighting by the bridge kaya pinag-pose ko pa rin sila.

Long drive home. Dinner muna kami sa golf clubhouse before heading back to Manila. Baka ma-traffic eh. I can't remember the dishes we ordered but masarap silang lahat at surprisingly, hindi ganun kamahal.

exotic food for my exotic tastebuds, plus icecream

Three of my college buddies asked me to come and check out Ziggurat, this quaint Indian/Ethiopian/Mediterranean/Egyptian restaurant near Makati Avenue. The place was a bit hard to find, but the search was worth it.

Loved the decor of the resto -- even though there were hardly any real dining tables and seats, just little coffeetables and lots of throwpillows (I had a hard time getting up!)

I can't remember the exotic dishes we ordered. Pero super sarap nilang lahat. Promise.

Me and the huge menu: Talk about copy-heavy. The list of dishes are inside the broadsheet-like menu. Naduling ako sa dami ng pagpipilian. Hehehe.

Dessert No. 2: Yeah, yeah I know. Too much sugar for one night. But how can we resist the yummy ice cream at Gelatone in Greenbelt 3?
